Story Behind the Music...
Bobby Zoe, Bobby Zee and Ian Sanchez flew up to Anchorage, Alaska to play for Bobby Zee's Nephew's wedding ceremony and reception. Bobby Zee and Zoe had been working on their first Christmas CD, "Cool Christmas" at the time and they had a "Cool" idea! Since they would be in a very "Cool" place, Alaska, why not take the photos for the CD booklet and tray card while in Alaska.
They turned the gig into a 10 day vacation adventure and one of the activities they did was hire a bush pilot to fly them up to base camp at Mount McKinley, now known by it's Athabaskan Indian name, Denali. Base camp is where all the adventurous mountaineers start the climb to the top of Denali. Since they had come to Alaska to perform for their Nephew's wedding, they just happened to have their tuxedos with them.
Fate smiled on the band and entourage for the entire trip. They kept hearing the tour guides and in this case the bush pilot say things like "I have never seen such perfect weather" or "I can't remember ever seeing so many animals out". As you will see from the CD photos, they lucked out to get the only red airplane at the Talkeetna airport for their trip to Denali.
So dressed in Tuxedos and tennis shoes, complete with a red Santa Claus hat, they shot the CD photos with the backdrop of "Santa Claus' " red airplane! No doubt the serious mountaineers all dressed in their state of the art sub-zero mountain climbing suits thought the boys were crazy or at least a bit eccentric!

One more amazing thing happened to complete the art work for the "Cool Christmas" CD. The boys were on a tour called the Kenai Fjords tour on the Kenai Peninsula and met a nice couple. The man, Daryl Pederson, was shooting photos with a very professional looking camera set up. The boys stuck up a conversation with Daryl and as they were admiring some of his work, the perfect Christmas CD cover photo appeared! They asked Daryl how much he would charge them to license the photo for use as the "Cool Christmas" cover. Daryl was amazingly friendly and generous and told the boys they could use it free of charge!
A few days later the boys came across some amazing photos for sale in a gift shop and discovered that Daryl Pederson is a famous photographer whose work is widely known!!
